NAMS-2 leadership team members bring extensive subject matter expertise and experience advancing aviation and technology innovation in support of and in collaboration with NASA and Ames Research Center, the Federal Aviation Administration, companies and academic organizations.

Program Manager

Dr. Gundy-Burlet has overall responsibility for the execution of the NAMS-2 contract. She brings a long and distinguished career at Ames as a civil servant and contractor. She has directed personnel and technical activities for NAMS, PESS II and Simlabs contracts contract at Ames and served as a technical area lead in the NASA Ames Aviation Systems Division.

Davis assists Dr. Gundy-Burlet with technical and management functions on the NAMS-2 contract. He brings extensive expertise in collaborative ATM, UAS, AAM and airspace automation technologies and 36 years of experience at Ames directing quality control and technical research in airspace automation, including integration of UAS into the NAS. He played a key role in crafting NASA’s pathbreaking AAM market studies and supporting NASA’s AAM concepts.

Refai leads NAMS-2 contract tasks related to Digital Transformation and Security. He brings extensive UAS software engineering experience with NASA following 25 years of experience as a contractor supporting a variety of projects. He developed software for several NASA simulation systems, including Java Architecture for Detect and Avoid Extensibility Modeling System (JADEM), Center TRACON Automation System (CTAS), Future Air Traffic Management Concepts Evaluation Tool (FACET), Airspace Concepts Evaluation System (ACES) and NAS Digital Twin.
