Open Enrollment for Crown benefits begins in December 2024, with new plans for 2025 effective January 1, 2025. Crown is adding a Kaiser Permanente HMO plan and Cigna will be the POS and H.S.A carrier.

2024 Benefit Plans

Health Crown offers optional participation in the CareFirst BCBS HSA and POS medical insurance plans. Eligibility in the plans begins on the employee’s start date. This is a contributory plan, where the employee pays a portion of the premium for the elected level of participation, and Crown pays the remaining portion of the premium.
Dental Crown offers optional participation in dental to all full-time employees working 30 or more hours per week. Eligibility in the plan begins on the employee’s start date. This is a contributory plan.
Vision Crown offers optional participation in the vision coverage to all full-time employees working 30 or more hours per week. Eligibility in the plan begins on the employee’s start date. This is a contributory plan.
125 Flexible Benefits Plan An FSA is available for full-time employees working 30 or more hours per week to pay for out-of-pocket health expenses, such as co-pays and deductibles, on a pre-tax basis.
 
All medical, dental and vision employee deductions come out on a pre-tax basis, unless instructed not to.
H.S.A. Savings Plan A Health Savings Account is for those who elect the H.S.A medical plan. This is a type of savings account that lets you set aside money on a pre-tax basis to pay for qualified medical expenses.
Paid Holidays Full-time employees are entitled to a paid day of leave for eleven federally recognized holidays: New Year’s Day, Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, President’s Day, Memorial Day, Juneteenth Independence Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Columbus Day, Veterans’ Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day. Part-time employees receive paid Holiday pay on a pro-rated basis. You must work the day before and after the holiday to receive holiday pay.
Paid Time Off (PTO) All full-time Crown employees accrue Paid Time Off (PTO) at a rate of 120 hours per year for the first (1st) two years of employment, 160 hours per year after two (2) years, and 200 hours per year after five (5) years. Part-time employees accrue PTO on a pro-rated basis. Unused PTO is capped at 240 hours and paid out at the end of employment,
Retirement 401(k) Crown provides a qualified 401(k) Savings and Investment Retirement Plan. Either a pre-tax or Roth option is available. For the first 1-3% that is deferred, Crown will match 100%, for the next 3-5% deferred, Crown will match 50%. As long as you contribute 5%, Crown will match 4%. The safe harbor matching contribution is 100% vested.
Company Paid Basic Life and AD&D Crown provides $50,000 in Life coverage to all full-time employees working over 30 or more hours per week.

Crown provides $50,000 in Accidental Death & Dismemberment (AD&D) coverage to all full-time employees working over 30 or more hours per week.

Company Paid Short-Term Disability Crown provides Short-Term Disability (STD) coverage to all full-time employees working 30 or more hours per week. Coverage begins on the 8th day of illness or injury and continuing for up to 12 weeks. This coverage is for 60% of the employee’s weekly salary up to $1,000 per week. Eligibility in the plan begins on the employee’s start date. Partial disability is available
Company Paid Long-Term Disability For illness or injury continuing beyond the 12 weeks of STD, Crown provides Long- Term Disability (LTD) coverage to all full-time employees working 30 or more hours per week. This coverage extends an employee’s disability benefits on a graduated time scale for 60% of their monthly salary up to $10,000 per month
Supplemental Life Insurance Crown offers supplemental life insurance up to $500,000, limited to 5 times the annual
salary. For employees age 70 and older, the maximum benefit is $50,000. Coverage is available for spouses and dependents. 100% paid by employee.
Supplemental AD&D Insurance Crown offers supplemental accidental death and dismemberment insurance available to employees. Coverage available for spouses and dependents. 100% paid by employee.  
Tuition and Certification Assistance Tuition and Certification Assistance is available to full-time Crown. employees (working 30 hours or more a week) who have not had any disciplinary issues in the previous six months, and who have been employed with Crown for one year. Crown will reimburse the employee $4,000 per calendar year for reimbursement of class tuition if the employee passes the class with a “B” grade or better. The class or certification must be relevant to the employee’s career path with Crown and pre-approved by their Crown supervisor.
Professional Organizations Crown supports employee involvement in professional organizations. Requests for professional society memberships are reimbursed upon employee request and supervisor approval.
Awards/Bonus Programs Special Awards Program – Bonuses under this program are in recognition of a specific, extraordinary achievement such as the completion of a major project phase with commendations from the client, the winning of a competitive proposal, etc. These awards are for immediate recognition of employee’s roles in these efforts. Special awards are for major achievements rather than for each interim success that employees achieve. The supervisors and/or members of the Management Team may make recommendations for potential awards to the President, who approves all special awards.

Employee of the Quarter and Employee of the Year Programs – Employees nominate employees on a quarterly basis and the winner is announced at our quarterly All Hands Meetings. The Employee of the Year is decided by the Executive Team and announced at our annual virtual holiday party.

Referral Bonus Referral bonus of $2,000 per candidate is paid to any Crown employee whose referral is hired and remains with Crown for 90 days.
Employee Assistance Program Employee Assistance Program (EAP) is a professional counseling and referral service designed to help employees with individual, job, or family-related challenges. This service is strictly voluntary, and confidential, and is provided free of charge to all employees.
Workers Compensation On-the-job related injuries and/or illnesses are covered under Workers’ Compensation Insurance with reimbursement to the employee for income losses and paying for medical and rehabilitation treatment.
Jury Duty Granted with court summons
Military Leave Crown grants up to 80 hours of military leave per year for members of the armed forces.
Family Leave Parental Leave – Crown provides up to 3 weeks (15 working days) of paid parental leave to employees following the birth of an employee’s child or the placement of a child with an employee in connection with adoption.

FMLA Leave – Crown allows for family leave under the federal FMLA policy for eligible employees. Crown also follows the CA FMLA and paid FMLA guidelines, and other CA leave programs.

Bereavement Three (3) days for the employee’s loss of an immediate family member; one (1) day for non-immediate family.
Transit & Parking Crown employees can use pre-tax contribution dollars to pay for qualified work-related transit and/or parking expenses.
Pet insurance Spot Pet Insurance offers options for Accident-Only and Accident & Illness pet insurance plans. This is 100% paid by the employee.
